When Eleanor Usher’s Rottweiler, Jessie, was expecting pups, she was told to anticipate six to eight puppies, but when it came to delivery time, she was shocked!
Jessie went into labor on the morning of her due date and gave birth to six tiny pups, followed by a total of nine more! That’s correct. Jessie delivered 15 dogs in all.
You’d think that would be enough to set records, but it turns out it’s the second-largest litter in the UK. The largest litter is 18! Jessie’s labor took about seven hours.
Imagine how this new mom felt as each newborn puppy arrived. No, Jessie’s owners weren’t expecting so many little pups. To call them startled would be an understatement. Also, it turns out Jessie is quite the momma, not letting anyone else around the puppies, even to help with feeding. She’s a do-it-all-herself kind of mom.
